To order a To order a painting you need to start with a photo. The more detailed the photo, the more detailed you painting will be.
The photo should capture the personality of the pet. Good lighting and sharp focus help to make a better photo. When in doubt send me a bunch of photos and I will pick the one that will make the best painting.
If the photo is meaningful to you, even if it is not the best, send it to me with as many others as possible of the same animal and I will give you something memorable.
If you have a busy background you can choose to have something like the dogwood trees or the clouds in "Lily" or "Baby Cooper" from the Gallery page. If you have a favorite painter, let me know. I can paint your pet in a variety of styles as you see from my examples
Once I see your photos, I will make a rough photo collage to establish the composition. At this time I will give you the price for your painting. You will need to send me 1/2 of the cost so that I can begin work. Once I have your approval on the style, I will start painting. I will send you a few updates via email. Once the painting is complete, I will require payment in full to ship it to you.
Here are some more photo guidelines:
1. No professional photos without permission.
2. If you are taking a photo yourself, do not use a flash. It flattens the image and makes the eyes too shiny or red and not natural. Instead try for natural light.
3 Get down to the level of the pet.. you will get a much better picture.
4. Get a natural pose. If the pet looks strange or twisted or uncomfortable, the painting will be strange twisted and uncomfortable.
5. When in doubt send a lot of pictures and I will help you pick.
